Joe Stewart – President
Joe will be actively involved in the Club Building project on a daily basis and will actively lead the team from preconstruction through completion. Joe Stewart founded SierraCon in 2016, is the sole owner and license holder. Joe Stewart worked for SMC Contracting from September of 2003 through January of 2017 where he was directly responsible for executing over $400 million in successful construction projects primarily in the Tahoe / Truckee region. Over his tenure his roles and responsibilities increased from project manager, to operations manager to partner and vice president. Mr. Stewart was responsible for the overall development, management and administration for the Lake Tahoe / Truckee Region. His duties included business development, preconstruction services, estimating, budgeting and negotiating contracts with owners and subcontractors, overall administration of all field activities, employee hiring, resource allocation and management, execution of contracts, procurement, contract documentation, project scheduling, negotiating change orders, reviewing billings and cash flow, monitoring contract budgets and close-out of contracts with owners and subcontractors. Joe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Josh Merkow – Project Manager / Estimator
Josh will be lead estimator and project manager from preconstruction through completion. Josh has worked at SierraCon since August 1st, 2017. Josh’s duties include pre-construction services, construction contracting, estimating, engineering, administration, and technical coordination. He is also tasked with budgeting, bid analysis, purchase orders, change orders, administrative documentation, value engineering, graphic design, logistics, and CAD/BIM coordination. Josh is well versed and experienced implementing efficient software and cloud based management systems into projects such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, ProLog and Primavera P6. While with SMC Josh was the project manager on the Edgewood Lodge and Site Improvements valued at $94 million. Josh has a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree with an emphasis on Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Zaq Rosenbloom – Superintendent / Engineering
Zaq will be the Superintendent / Engineering manager on the project as well as assisting on preconstruction services. Zaq has worked at SierraCon since March 1st, 2018. Zaq’s duties include scheduling, logistics and overall management of the execution of the project. He is also responsible for assisting with subcontractor buy out, field and office engineering, technical correspondence and conflict resolution between subcontractors, design team and owner. Zaq is LEED AP certified and well versed and experienced implementing efficient software and cloud based management systems into projects such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, ProLog, Microsoft Office and Primavera P6. The majority of Zaq’s previous experience is constructing luxury residential and commercial projects in Kauai for RS Weir and Unlimited Construction. From 2008 to 2018 Zaq has worked on projects with construction values totaling $369 million. Zaq has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Juan Cruz – Field Superintendent / Quality Control
Juan will be the Field Superintendent on the project. Juan has worked at SierraCon since August 1st, 2017. Juan’s role as field superintendent will include managing and maintaining the project schedule, working directly with field crews and labor to coordinate and implement the work, inspections, quality control at all phases, safety management and tracking. Similar significant projects Juan has worked on in the Tahoe region include the Edgewood Lodge, improvements at the Ritz-Carlton Northstar, Resort at Squaw Creek and the Tree House amenity building in Northstar.
